Social Cancer

This soundtrack was made in FL Studio and has a runtime of 4:27. Honestly I don't know what genre this is in, but it's soundly in that indie vibe. I got inspired a lot by Guilty Gear and Warframe cause they've been releasing songs with lyrics as part of their OST, so I thought I could do it too. I was also inspired by how sick I was the weekend prior to the announcement of the theme of the jam, so I figured let's make a song about how trapped I was while I was sick, and now here we are.

The game I envisioned with this was a game where the main character, Nathalie is a person who was afflicted by chronic illness once she started high school and stayed there an extended period of time. She died in hospital, not able to explore the world properly. She then has to explore the freedom the afterlife gives her, while learning to forgive old grudges and past grievances. This eventually gives her the opportunity to give herself personal freedom and finally find rest.

In line with the sickness vibes, I'd like to envision this track as the score to the opening cutscene of the game. Doctors scrambling to save Nathalie, as she suddenly starts to become unstable. The track goes on, eventually ending at the death of Nathalie as she slips from living to the afterlife.
